“One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star.” - Friedrich Nietzsche

Software engineer, founder and lifelong student of life and philosophy. I believe enduring technology begins with first principles, disciplined execution and a willingness to question everything and everyone. I pursue the kind of work that compounds over decades and hopefully outlives me.

About Me

Building Kenya's digital healthcare infrastructure.

I'm Goodwin Omollo, software engineer, co-founder and CEO of Crucibel Technology Ltd. For years, I’ve watched brilliant clinicians and caring healthcare providers in Kenya grapple with broken workflows and disconnected systems. I’ve seen patient information get lost, referrals delayed and operational inefficiencies compound - all because the underlying technology wasn’t built to support how healthcare actually works.

The frustration I felt watching this unfold pushed me to build Nova together with my brothers Paul Okello and Wycliffe Abok. We believed there was a better way where technology could be a seamless partner to healthcare providers and not a constant source of friction. Today, Nova stands head and shoulders above the rest as a modern, intuitive software that addresses the challenges our clinicians face every day. We focused on making healthcare workflows smoother, more connected and more reliable.

Vision
I believe healthcare infrastructure should be as connected, accessible, and reliable as the financial systems people depend on every day.

Across Kenya and many parts of Africa, healthcare data still lives in silos - paper records, isolated systems, fragmented workflows. A patient moving between a clinic, a hospital, a laboratory and an imaging centre often carries their own history by memory. The cost of this fragmentation is paid in delayed diagnoses, duplicated tests, and avoidable harm.

Nova is our answer - a shared infrastructure layer that lets providers in our network exchange information securely, work from a single source of truth and focus on care instead of paperwork. The vision isn't a single product - it's the connective tissue that Kenya's healthcare ecosystem can be built on.

What I Focus On

Where my work lives today.

Healthcare Infrastructure

Building the digital foundation that hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories, diagnostic centres, healthcare professionals and patients depend on every day.

Health Information Exchange

Connecting healthcare providers through secure, standards-based exchange of clinical information with patient consent at the centre.

Unified Patient Records

Creating a longitudinal patient record that follows people across the healthcare system instead of remaining trapped in disconnected legacy platforms.

Healthcare Interoperability

Designing APIs, integrations and shared services that allow independent healthcare systems to communicate as one.

Privacy, Security & Compliance

Building healthcare technology that protects patient privacy and meets the regulatory expectations of modern digital health.

Digital Health Transformation

Helping healthcare organizations modernize operations with technology that is intuitive, reliable and built around real clinical workflows.

Principles

The ideas that guide my decisions.

Think from first principles

Question assumptions before optimizing them. Every meaningful problem deserves to be understood from its fundamentals rather than accepted as 'the way things have always been done.'

Build for decades

Healthcare infrastructure isn't built for the next quarter - it is built for the next generation. I value durability, patience and long-term thinking over short-term wins.

Technology should disappear

The best software rarely draws attention to itself. It quietly removes friction, empowers people and lets clinicians focus on caring for patients instead of navigating systems.

Trust is the product

In healthcare, security, privacy, reliability, and transparency are not features - they are prerequisites. Every technical decision should strengthen trust, never weaken it.

Systems shape behaviour

People are rarely the bottleneck. Poorly designed systems create unnecessary complexity. Better systems enable better decisions, better collaboration and ultimately better outcomes.

Leave things better than you found them

Whether it's software, a company or a community, meaningful work should create lasting value for the people who depend on it. That's the standard I strive to build towards every day.
